Kristina Huckstep

Kristina Huckstep is an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, Certified EMDR Therapist, and Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensed in Alaska and Florida. As an EMDR Consultant in Alaska, Kristina is the founder of A Mindful Journey, LLC — a telehealth practice offering EMDR intensives, ASSYST groups, and consultation services to adults and adolescents navigating trauma, anxiety, grief, and the weight of experiences that won’t let go.

Kristina holds a Master of Social Work from Florida Gulf Coast University and has been practicing since 2008. Her clinical career spans an exceptionally wide range of settings — including the VA and DoD, Indian Health Services, rural Alaska, community mental health, hospitals, nursing homes, home health and medical social work, and child welfare — giving her a grounded, real-world perspective on the diverse and often underserved populations she has walked alongside throughout her career.

Her advanced training is broad and deeply trauma-focused, including EMDR 2.0, the Group and Recent Events Protocol (G-REP), FLASH Technique, GAP Training, EMDR and IFS, Attachment-Focused EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), DBT, and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) Levels 1 and 2. She specializes in complex trauma and PTSD, military and veteran trauma, first responders and their spouses, dissociation, attachment and developmental trauma, infertility, foster care and adoption trauma, anxiety, depression, and chronic pain.

Kristina also offers optional Christian faith integration for clients and consultees who desire a spiritually grounded approach to EMDR therapy — bringing her whole self to the work with warmth, authenticity, and deep clinical skill.

As an EMDR Consultant in Alaska, Kristina provides a collaborative, growth-oriented consultation space — helping therapists build confidence, navigate complex cases, and develop sustainable, competent EMDR practice wherever they are.
