Because our EMDR Basic Training is EMDRIA-approved, all participants are required to complete the full training hours in order to receive a certificate of completion.
This includes:
- 20 hours of didactic instruction
- 20 hours of practicum
- 10 hours of group consultation
To meet these requirements, any missed training time must be made up.
What Counts as Missed Training Time?
If you miss more than 15 minutes of any Part 1 or Part 2 training day, that time must be completed.
This applies whether the missed time includes:
Lecture/didactic instruction
Practicum practice
Any other required training components
Pre-approved accommodations for disability and other access needs may include a change in the amount of time a participant may miss without having to schedule make-up time. In that case, refer to the timeframe agreed upon with the Scaling Up Team.
Required Make-Up Sessions
Any training time missed beyond 15 minutes must be made up directly with a Scaling Up EMDR trainer.
- Make-up sessions are billed at $150 per hour
- You will schedule and pay the trainer directly
- Sessions are individual (one-on-one)
Before scheduling, please coordinate with our team so we can confirm:
- How much time was missed
- Whether the missed portion was practicum or lecture
- The exact amount of time that needs to be made up
Once we confirm your required make-up time, you may contact one of the trainers listed below to schedule your individual session.
When reaching out, please let them know you are scheduling to make up missed didactic training time with Scaling Up EMDR so they can plan the session appropriately.
After your make-up session is completed, the trainer will notify us so we can update your training record.

Missed Consultation Time?
Consultation hours must be completed to meet EMDRIA requirements. If you miss consultation time, you’ll need to schedule make-up hours with one of our recommended consultants. Missed hours may be made up through individual or group consultation. You must complete the full number of hours missed in order to receive your Certificate of Completion.
