Barbara Banda
EMDRIA-APPROVED CONSULTANT
Barbara Banda is an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, Certified EMDR Therapist, Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S), and Registered Yoga Teacher serving clients and clinicians in Texas. As an EMDR Consultant in Texas, Barbara offers individual EMDR consultation for therapists seeking certification, bringing over 20 years of clinical experience to her work with fellow professionals.
Barbara’s career has been rooted in trauma-focused care from the beginning. She spent her early years working with children, adolescents, and adults who had experienced trauma, building a strong foundation in developmental and relational healing. Over time, her practice expanded to include first responders, military personnel, and veterans — populations she has served in both counseling and peer support settings for more than five years. She has provided Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) debriefings and utilized advanced EMDR protocols to address the effects of repeated trauma exposure and moral injury, both in individual and group contexts.
Barbara holds a Master of Science degree and is a Certified First Responder Counselor, a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200), and a Level 2 Certified Yoga for First Responders (YFFR) Instructor — reflecting her commitment to whole-person, body-based healing. She is also a bilingual clinician, providing services and consultation in both English and Spanish.
Her clinical specialties include sexual trauma and intimate partner violence, polyvagal and somatic approaches, and working with immigrant and refugee populations, LGBTQIA+ clients, neurodivergent individuals, and those impacted by incarceration. Barbara operates from a trauma- and strength-focused lens, meeting each client and consultee with warmth, cultural humility, and a deep commitment to healing.
