Diane Brooks
EMDRIA-APPROVED CONSULTANT
Diane Brooks is an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, Certified EMDR Therapist, and Licensed Clinical Social Worker serving clients and clinicians in Colorado. As a Colorado EMDR Consultant, she earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland and has been practicing EMDR therapy since completing her Basic Training in 2016.
Diane’s introduction to EMDR began in 2009 while working at a residential treatment center for adolescents, where trauma-informed care was central to her work. After relocating to Colorado and building her experience across integrated care and private practice settings, she fully committed to EMDR as a core modality — and has been specializing in it ever since. She has utilized EMDR across the full lifespan, working with clients as young as 10 years old through older adults and seniors.
Her clinical background is broad and deeply trauma-focused. Diane has worked in community mental health, residential programs, child welfare, and jails and prisons, giving her a grounded, real-world perspective on complex presentations. She holds advanced training through The Ferentz Institute’s Advanced Trauma Training (Levels I & II), as well as certifications in CBT for children and adolescents (The REACH Institute), DBT, TF-CBT, and is IFS-informed.
Diane specializes in complex trauma and PTSD, dissociation, anxiety disorders, grief and loss, attachment and developmental trauma, perinatal and postpartum concerns, and working with military personnel, veterans, and first responders. She also has significant experience supporting children, adolescents, and LGBTQIA+ clients.
As a consultant, Diane brings warmth, practicality, and genuine enthusiasm for supporting fellow therapists. She especially enjoys helping clinicians integrate EMDR into the work they are already doing — building confidence, competence, and clinical creativity along the way.
