Karen has worked across diverse fields—from newspaper business reporting (back when news was still printed) to grant writing for a small nonprofit, fundraising for a major university, and leading local and international missions at her church.

At Scaling Up, she blends her professional experience with her passion for meaningful impact, helping pursue funding that makes emotional healing accessible to more people.

Outside of work, Karen enjoys running, hiking, traveling, and spending time with her husband and two daughters in North Carolina.
