Tony Parmenter

EMDRIA-APPROVED CONSULTANT

Tony Parmenter is an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, Certified EMDR Therapist, EMDRIA Approved Credit Provider, Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), and U.S. Air Force Veteran based in Vermont. As an EMDR Consultant in Vermont, Tony offers individual and group EMDR consultation through the Seiyu Institute for Health & Training — a premier education center he founded dedicated to nature-based, attachment-focused, and experiential approaches to trauma healing.

Tony holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Substance Abuse and Addictions Counseling from Antioch University New England. He served on active duty with the U.S. Air Force from 2001 to 2007, including deployment to Operation Enduring Freedom, giving him a firsthand understanding of military culture and combat-related trauma. He is licensed across Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, New York, Iowa, Massachusetts, and Colorado.

His clinical approach is one of the most integrative in the field — weaving together Attachment-Focused EMDR, Ego State Therapy, Polyvagal therapies, energy and somatic approaches, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and creative and expressive arts. Tony is also the creator of Therapeutic Fly-Fishing with EMDR (TF-EMDR®) — the first published method combining therapeutic fly-fishing with an evidence-based psychotherapy for trauma — and teaches this approach to therapists worldwide through the Seiyu Institute.

His additional credentials include certifications in Critical Incident Stress Management (CCISM), Ketamine Assisted Therapy, Safe & Sound Protocol, and Reiki (Master Level), as well as training as a Star Behavioral Health Provider for military populations.

As an EMDR Consultant in Vermont, Tony specializes in veterans, first responders, artists, cult and religious trauma survivors, and therapists and medical professionals — and brings contagious enthusiasm and deep expertise to helping clinicians discover the full creative potential of EMDR therapy.
